#AVeryBookishPostChallenge – Photo Prompt Challenge
“For some of us, books are as important as almost anything else on earth. What a miracle it is that out of these small, flat, rigid squares of paper unfolds world after world after world, worlds that sing to you, comfort and quiet or excite you. Books help us understand who we are and how we are to behave. They show us what community and friendship mean; they show us how to live and die.”
— Anne Lamott – Bird by Bird: Some Instructions on Writing and Life
Bookstagram is probably my favourite thing about blogging/social media etc. It’s an incredibly supportive community, and I’ve made some amazing friends through it. There are so many completely gorgeous accounts out there, and it’s an amazing way to discover new books. As you may know, I started the #AVeryBookishPost hashtag a few months ago, and seeing all the beautiful photos that use it makes me so happy, it’s such a lovely community, and a lot of people have said they’ve discovered new accounts through following the hashtag. After having a break from blogging and bookstagramming, I’ve struggled a bit to get back into it, and I’ve been a little lacking in enthusiasm and creativity.
So, I thought I’d create something that would not only motivate me, but hopefully inspire others, so I’ve decided to host #AVeryBookishPostChallenge.
It’s a daily photo prompt challenge I’m going to be doing during September. I shared it on my Instagram (and I’ll share it again a few more times before September starts) and I’ve been overwhelmed with how many people have shared it and said they want to join in.
I’d absolutely love it if you fancied joining in – whether you do it every day or just dip in and out when you feel like it! Use the hashtag, tag me in the photos so I can see, and I’ll share my favourites throughout!
I hope you can join in, and come and say hi on Instagram!
