All the little things: November
I know, I know, I say this each month, but how is it December?! The final month of 2018!? January seemed to drag, and then I blinked, and now it’s December!
Aside from a horrendous week of illness, November was an amazing month, I felt like it was pretty non-stop. I’m missing autumn already, but I’m excited to get festive and Christmassy! Here are a few of my favourite November moments…
Our trip to India at the beginning of the month was one of the highlights of the year! It was absolutely amazing being able to spend some quality time with Sam, and although I missed Dougie a ridiculous amount, I think it was really good for us.
This Is Us season 3 has been on, I honestly think it’s my favourite show ever. It’s so brilliantly written and the acting is incredible. We’ve also been watching I’m A Celebrity, this season is just great – I’m really enjoying the Holly and Dec dynamic!
This was the month I completed my 2018 reading challenge! I was so proud of myself, but I’ve carried on reading lots. A new library has opened near our flat, and we’ve been spending a lot of time there, and I went charity book shopping the other day with my Mum – my bag was considerably heavier on the way home… Aside from the books I’ve talked about in my reading posts, I think the best book I’ve read this month was Lisa Jewell’s Watching You. It’s obviously a ‘gripping, unputdownable psychological thriller’ but I really enjoyed it and I didn’t see where it was going.
I bought a stripey dress from ASOS that I absolutely love. I wore it when I went to Covent Garden with Marie, and I’m excited to wear it more over the festive period!
Dougie has been amazing this month. He’s been ill a bit (there’s SO much going round!) but he’s been an absolute trooper. His speech is developing, and we’ve been spending a lot of time in the library together, and I love watching him choose books and being able to read them together. We spent a weekend in Leicester with my family and watching him with my parents is so special.
My parents suggested visiting Kenilworth Castle when we were staying with them. Kenilworth is somewhere we went almost every weekend when we were kids, and it was so nice being able to take Dougie. He loved playing hide and seek in the ruins, had plenty of space to push his buggy around and enjoyed all the stairs available!
I was invited to the White Stuff SS19 press day. I love White Stuff and was really excited to go, but I was so anxious about it. I didn’t know anyone that was going, and I’m not great at arriving at places by myself. The event was all day, and so I headed straight there after dropping Dougie off, assuming (correctly) that it would be fairly quiet. I gave myself a bit of a talking-to outside and told myself I’d regret not going. I went in and I’m so pleased I did. Everyone was so lovely, I got to make a bouquet and get an illustration done which I absolutely love (pictured above). The SS19 products were gorgeous and I’m so pleased I got to see them – so many things I want! It may seem like a small thing, but I’m really proud of going.
How has your month been?!
