All the little things: July

August 3, 2017Hels

We seem to be hurtling towards the end of the year. July was fairly busy but a really nice month, I got to see a lot of friends and family. My Dad came down to look after Dougie while Sam was away and it was lovely to see him, and we’ve been doing a lot of wedding planning which is exciting!

I was kindly sent this B Organic Lime & Coconut body balm*, which I’ve added into my daily skincare routine and I love it. It smells so good and my skin definitely feels softer, and I love that its handmade and organic. They have a range for kids and babies too which I’d like to try for Dougie – he’s had mild eczema and I’ve been a bit hesitant about putting products on him, but I’d feel confident trying B Organic products on his skin.

Dougie moment

He stood up! All by himself! He was quite poorly for a few days this month, and I had a few sleepless nights where he slept on me, although I have to admit, as exhausting and horrible as it was, it was kind of lovely being curled up with him, he’s so active usually that he doesn’t really want cuddles at the moment!

I’m reading Ian McEwan’s Enduring Love at the moment and really enjoying it.

Hmm… I feel like I’ve spent a lot of money this month but I’m not sure what on! Oh, I bought this gorgeous dress from H&M for a wedding, I can’t wait to wear it!

Oh my gosh and I completely forgot, we booked our honeymoon! That was definitely a big purchase! We’re heading to Mexico a couple of days after our wedding, I am SO excited! If anyone has been to Mexico (Riviera Maya area) please send me recommendations of things to do!

Day out

I have two…

Dougie stayed with Sam’s family for a night this month, so Sam and I had nearly 24 baby-free hours, which was very odd. It was the longest he’s been anywhere without us, so Sam and I wandered around the Lambeth Country Fair, had a few drinks and enjoyed the fact that we could be out past 6pm AND have a full night’s sleep (even though we missed him so we went round to get him at 7am…)

I went to Peggy Porschen with Abbey and Kate, it was such a lovely (and tasty) way to spend a day.

It sounds like a small thing, but I drove in London in rush hour by myself for the first time. Also I got to 1000 followers on Instagram and Twitter. Although obviously people unfollowed me so I think I’m on 999 on Instagram now!

I wrote about the family photoshoot we did; I think the photos from that were definitely some of my favourites this month.

Memorable moment

We finally posted out our wedding invites which was pretty memorable! They’re so beautiful! I also went out for the night with some of my lovely NCT Mum friends – after nearly a year(!) of baby playdates, we finally left the babies with their dads and went out for dinner and drinks, it was so much fun!

What have been your favourite moments this month?

*B Organic kindly sent me this product in exchange for an honest review
