Behind the scenes

With social media ever-prevalent, the lines between online and offline are becoming increasingly blurred. Five years ago, I wrote my entire MA dissertation on how fashion blogs and new media have changed traditional journalism and the way we absorb and share our lives, and it’s even more so apparent today.

Cervical screening letter? Go.

This is quite a personal topic, and I felt a bit uncomfortable writing about it, and I was nervous to post, but then I realised that there was absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about, and maybe it would help and encourage someone else, so I wanted to share it…

All the little things: August

I know I say this every month, but I can’t believe it’s the end of the month! This time last year I was (im)patiently waiting for Dougie to arrive, and now he’s nearly a year old – how is that possible?!?!? August has felt like a very busy month; I don’t remember the last time…

Our engagement story (& a little wedding update)

I can’t believe how quickly our wedding is coming up. It always seemed like it was ages away, we had so many other weddings to go to before ours, but now there is only one more wedding and then the countdown really is on!

About me – Q&A

I love finding out more about people that I chat to on a daily basis, and I wanted to do a fun post, so I decided to ask on Twitter if anyone wanted to know anything about me (with every intention of deleting the tweet if no-one replied!) and lots of my favourite blogger friends…

All the little things: July

We seem to be hurtling towards the end of the year. July was fairly busy but a really nice month, I got to see a lot of friends and family. My Dad came down to look after Dougie while Sam was away and it was lovely to see him, and we’ve been doing a lot…

The one with all the pink

Sometimes you need an afternoon filled with friends, cupcakes, pink lemonade and plenty of people-watching in one of the prettiest dining spots in London…

London’s most Instagrammable food

I’ve lived in London for nearly 10 years now, but I still find myself amazed by the sheer amount of things to do here, the sights to see and places to eat. I thought I’d put together a list of some of the most picture-perfect sweet treats in London – ideal for anyone like me…

Baby photoshoot with Barrett and Coe

While my camera roll is completely full of shots of Dougie – blurred photos of crawling, awkward selfies and messy teatime images – I’ve always wanted some more professional photos that we can share with our families and hang up proudly in our home.

All the little things: June

Cue monthly amazement that it’s the end of yet another month – this year is flying by! June hasn’t been too busy, but in case anyone missed it, we actually had a UK heatwave! For us, this meant days enjoying paddling pools and picnics, and sweaty, sleepless nights with Dougie – babies and heat do…

Brighton road trip*

As we’ve been having such beautiful weather these last few weeks, we thought we’d take a mini road trip to Brighton to take Dougie to the seaside. We actually visited Brighton a few weeks before Dougie was born last year, our final trip just Sam and I, and we thought it would be lovely to…

A day in the life

I love reading posts about people’s day-to-day life on their blogs, I think they’re such a fun way to get to know them and get more of an insight into their life – which is often a little different to a carefully selected image on Instagram or a quick, 140-character tweet!
