It’s the end of January! For once this month hasn’t flown by, but it hasn’t really dragged for me. It’s been pretty busy and tiring, and I’m definitely looking forward to longer, lighter days!
Here are a few of my favourite moments from the last month…
I’m really proud of how much I’ve read this month. I’ve challenged myself to read 50 books in 2018, and so far I’ve read four – Behind Her Eyes, Why Mummy Drinks, A Little Life and This Is How It Always Is. I’ve really enjoyed all of them, I think A Little Life has become one of my all-time favourite books though. It’s absolutely beautiful and completely heartbreaking.
Sam and I have been watching The Crown and I’m completely obsessed by it. I’m torn between wanting to binge the entire thing, and wanting to savour it. We’re halfway through season 2 and I love it so much.
He suddenly seems to have really grown up this month. He’s not quite there with his talking yet (though Sam has taught him to bark…) but he understands so much now. If you ask him to get his shoes, he’ll bring them over to you, he understands words, even if he isn’t saying them yet. He absolutely LOVES reading, in the morning he’ll go and get a pile of books and bring them over, and crawl onto my lap and we’ll read together, which makes me so happy.
I bought a gorgeous, cosy, oversized jumper from ASOS, that I absolutely love, and a new bag from Skinnydip.
I spent a day in Leicester the other week. I got to spend time with Hannah and Abbey, as well as see my family. I was there for my Dad’s Professorial Inaugural Lecture, and it was absolutely amazing, I was so proud of him.
Does reading lots count as an achievement? I’m proud of how I’ve somehow managed to keep on top of work, baby, blogging and I’m building a website for someone which has involved teaching myself quite a bit of coding, and I haven’t exploded yet.
I love the photo at the top of this post that I took when I went to Peggy Porschen with Corinne (I want all the cupcakes) and this one of Sam and Dougie when we went for a walk 🙂
What have been your January highlights?
